Truthfully, there is a ton of garbage on that list that does not deserve to be posted even in an insignificant blog post on the internets. So, I am going to pick and choose notable, surprise and high-profile titles instead.
Check it out after the jump.
Wii
2K Sports
NHL® 2K10 - Sept. 15
NBA 2K10 - Oct. 6
Activision Publishing, Inc.
Marvel™: Ultimate Alliance 2™ - Sept. 15
DJ Hero™ - Oct. 27
Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare®: Reflex - Nov. 10
Tony Hawk®: RIDE™ - Nov. 17
Band Hero™ - November
Guitar Hero® Van Halen® - Dec. 22
(In before "gag reflex" jokes.)
Atlus U.S.A., Inc.
Trauma Team™ - Spring
Shiren the Wanderer™ - Spring
Capcom® Entertainment, Inc.
Spyborgs™ - Sept. 22
Resident Evil®: The Darkside Chronicles - Nov. 17
(The RE: DC mission in South America looks like a "what if" for RE5 Wii.)
Electronic Arts
Dead Space™ Extraction - Sept. 29
Need for Speed™ Nitro - Nov. 17
(Damn you, Nitro, for not having online play nor the nWo.)
Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc.
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories - November
LucasArts
Star Wars® The Clone Wars™: Republic Heroes™ - Oct. 6
LEGO® Indiana Jones 2™: The Adventure Continues - Fall
Majesco Entertainment
A Boy and His Blob - Oct. 13
(Even at $40, I fear that the game will go completely unnoticed.)
NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc
Dragon Ball®: Revenge of King Piccolo - October
(2.5D action-platformer that highly resembles the anime's visual style. Do not be turned off by the IP.)
Nintendo
Wii Fit Plus - Oct. 4
New Super Mario Bros. Wii - Holiday
(What the heck is Nintendo waiting in order to announce the NSMB Wii release date?)
Square Enix
FINAL FANTASY® CRYSTAL CHRONICLES®: THE CRYSTAL BEARERS® - Dec. 26
THQ
WWE® SmackDown® vs. Raw® 2010 - Oct. 20
(Surprised at the lack of a de Blob 2 announcement this far into things.)
Ubisoft
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles™: Smash-up - Sept. 22
Rabbids Go Home™ - Nov. 3
Shaun White Snowboarding: World Stage - Nov. 8
(Who would have ever thought UBISOFT would have three Wii-exclusives that do not appear to be the drizzling dookies?)
XSEED Games
JU-ON: The Grudge - Oct. 13
(No Fragile nor Sky Crawlers? Sad face.)
Conclusion: There is definitely a relatively wide-range of traditional titles for folks to enjoy, but not much in the way of online gaming. Third-parties are being given the keys to the kingdom this holiday season, and the onus is now on them to advertise the bajeezus out of their titles.
WiiWare
Aksys Games
BIT.TRIP VOID - Q3
BIT.TRIP series (3 additional titles) - Q4, Q1
(Second trilogy? Fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff.)
Broken Rules
And Yet It Moves - Q4
Frontier
LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias - Q4
Ghostfire Games
Rage of the Gladiator - Q1
(Looks like a decent Punch-Out clone.)
Konami
Castlevania: The Adventure Rebirth - Q3
(100% confirmed. And, uh, out within two weeks?)
Nabi Studios
Toribash - Q4
(I think you can play this on your PC for free. But, this version has online play.)
Nicalis
Cave Story - Q3
Night Game - Q1
La Mulana - Q1
(Cave Story is not going to make Q3. At best, it will hit in the middle of October.)
Nintendo
You, Me, and the Cubes™ - Q3
Eco Shooter: Plant 530™ - Q4
(2:1 says Eco Shooter is another off-the-wall title like Banzai Barber.)
Nintendo/TPC
Pokémon™ Rumble - Q4
Press Play
Max & the Magic Marker - Q4
Team Meat
Super Meat Boy - Q1
Telltale Games
Tales of Monkey Island™: Lair of the Leviathan - Q3
Tales of Monkey Island™: The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood - Q4
Tales of Monkey Island™: Rise of the Pirate God - Q4
Conclusion: WiiWare is lookin' pretty rad. Unfortunately, far too many will dismiss the service simply because there is no advertising for titles (not to mention the inherent disconnection of an online community on the system).
DS/DSi
Activision Publishing, Inc.
Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare®: Mobilized - Nov. 10
Ignition Entertainment
Nostalgia - Oct. 20
(Airships EVERYWHERE.)
Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc.
WireWay - November
LucasArts
Star Wars® The Clone Wars™: Republic Heroes™ - Oct. 6
NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc
Dragon Ball® Z: Attack of the Saiyans - November
(RPG x DBZ = Huh.)
Nintendo
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky - Oct. 12
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks - Dec. 7
(Post Black Friday release for new Zelda? Interesting.)
NIS America
A Witch's Tale - Oct. 6
Atelier Annie: Alchemists of Sera Island - Oct. 27
SEGA®
Phantasy Star™ Zero - Nov. 10
Sands of Destruction™ - January
Infinite Space™ - Spring
(I need to play Infinite Space.)
Square Enix
KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 DAYS - Sept. 29
SPACE INVADERS EXTREME™ 2 - Oct. 20
(SIE2 = GOTY 2009. Yes. GOTY.)
Ubisoft
Jam Sessions 2 - Oct. 20
C.O.P. The Recruit™ - Nov. 3
Rabbids Go Home™ - Nov. 3
(I have no idea if these games will be any good, especially C.O.P. It will likely suck.)
XSEED Games
THE WIZARD OF OZ™: Beyond the Yellow Brick Road - Sept. 29
(Yes, a Wizard of Oz RPG.)
Conclusion: The west has no idea on how to utilize the enormous install base of the DS OUTSIDE of garbage mini-game collections and various licensed titles. A shame that so few outside of Japan care enough about the system to treat it more than a dumping ground for Sponge Bob and Nickelodeon waste.
DSiWare
Hudson Entertainment
Bomberman Blitz - Q4
Nintendo
Art Style™: DIGIDRIVE™ - Q4
Electroplankton™ (10 titles total) - Q4
Subatomic Studios
Fieldrunners - Q4
WayForward Technologies
Shantae: Risky's Revenge - Q4
Conclusion: A new Shante and ArtStyle game will certainly be welcome additions to DSiWare, but the platform appears anemic for the rest of the year. There are certainly quality titles on the service, but the low install base of the DSi -- combined with the lack of many of the titles over in Japan -- is leading to dry spells of content that even WiiWare does not really deal in anymore.
